Is there a long-term contract?
Expedition is a one-time engagement — no commitment beyond the project. Ascent runs month-to-month with 30 days notice. Residency has a 3-month minimum to allow meaningful platform work; after that it's rolling.
Our team is small — will this overwhelm us?
We work with your engineers, not above them. Every engagement is sized to your team's capacity. We document everything and transfer knowledge deliberately — you will understand the system we build.
Do you work with teams outside Estonia?
Yes. We serve clients across the EU, Middle East and US. All work is remote-first. We use async-friendly communication and schedule real-time calls to fit your timezone.
What if we're not on AWS or GCP?
We support AWS, GCP, Azure, Hetzner and bare metal. If you're on a different provider, get in touch — we've worked with most setups.
Can we start with Expedition and move to Ascent?
That is the most common path. The Expedition audit gives us a shared map of your system, which makes the Ascent retainer more effective from day one.
Can we just buy hours instead of a package?
Yes — that is how most early-stage teams start with us. There is no fixed rate card: what we charge depends on the scope, how much work there is, and how early you are. Tell us your budget and what hurts, and you will have a fixed quote in one email. If the honest answer is that you need two hours rather than twenty, we will say so.
We hire DevOps freelancers on Upwork — why you?
Marketplace freelancers are good value for isolated tasks, and we will not pretend otherwise. The difference shows up later. We document what we build and hand it over so your team can run it without us, and we are still reachable in six months when something changes. You get an EU company with a real contract, GDPR-aware processing and an invoice your accountant accepts — at rates we keep close to freelance for teams at your stage.
Do you help with hiring DevOps and cloud engineers?
Yes. We help clients recruit DevOps, SRE, cloud and platform engineers: defining and levelling the role, sourcing and shortlisting, running the technical screening and interviews with you, and onboarding the hire into your platform. Fixed fee, scoped per search, agreed before we start.
Do prices include VAT?
Prices are shown excluding Estonian VAT (22%). EU clients with a valid VAT number are invoiced under the reverse-charge mechanism. Non-EU clients are not subject to Estonian VAT.
